Post-National

DCST Post-National provides a competitive training and racing opportunity for experienced swimmers who wish to continue representing the DeKalb County Swim Team in USA Swimming competition but who, because of age, prior collegiate representation, or other applicable eligibility requirements, may no longer be eligible for YMCA championship competition. DCST believes competitive swimming can remain a lifelong pursuit. Post-National may include postcollegiate swimmers, current or former collegiate athletes when participation is permitted by applicable collegiate, institutional, and governing-body rules, adult competitive swimmers, nationally qualified athletes, and other experienced swimmers pursuing meaningful competition through USA Swimming. Post-National membership is determined by the Director of Competitive Swimming based upon the athlete's experience, training readiness, competitive goals, available training space, and the ability of DCST to provide an appropriate training environment. Post-National athletes compete primarily through USA Swimming and must maintain all current USA Swimming membership and athleteprotection requirements applicable to them. Post-National membership is a training and competition designation and is separate from DCST National Team recognition. An athlete may be both a permanent DCST National Team member and a current Post-National athlete.
