Coaching Staff
Kayleigh started swimming with the DeKalb County Swim Team for four years, starting at age 11, and for DeKalb High School varsity team for four years where she was voted Captain for two of those years. Trails when she was 12 and continued until she was 18.
Kayleigh previously worked as lifeguard and swim instructor for Lifetime Fitness, teaching lessons to swimmers of all ages. She has coached with multiple teams (Dundee Dolphins, Northwest Arkansas Aquatics and was also the Head Coach of Trails of Algonquin for 6 years and a Lifetime Swim Team for one year. Kayleigh has been a big supporter of her younger sisters and cousins, helping them to hone their technique, especially in freestyle and starts/turns and is passionate about swimming. Kayleigh stays active at the gym, and outdoors. She is a certified personal trainer, and group fitness instructor. She is currently working on a certification in Sports Nutrition and loves staying active outdoors!

Coach Michelle grew up in DeKalb and has always had a passion for swimming. Growing up, she spent summer days in her backyard and began teaching swim lessons at Kishwaukee YMCA at age 14. She swam on the DeKalb-Sycamore Co-op Team and DCST in high school and began coaching for DCST in 2011 until 2018. She started coaching again in 2022 after her two daughters joined the swim team.
Michelle graduated from NIU with a degree in Elementary Education and has worked in the public school system teaching fourth grade and most recently she has been an assistant teacher at a Montessori preschool in Sycamore. She loves to travel and enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters and dog, Cotton Candy.
