Bickner Family Scholarship

Attention Senior Swimmers

The Bickner Family has been involved with the Kishwaukee Family YMCA and DeKalb County Swim Team since 1977.  The Bickner family recognizes the Kishwaukee Family YMCA and DCST's critical impact on young people, allowing opportunities to compete while instilling solid values.  Furthermore, the DeKalb County swim team provides swimmers with a strong foundation and the necessary skills to succeed in future endeavors.   

Scholarship:

$1,000 Annual Scholarship to be awarded at the winter banquet except for the 2023 year.

Criteria:

Age: DCST High School senior swimmer

College: Must be planning to enroll in an accredited college/university as a full-time student in the fall

Athletics: Must have demonstrated dedication and commitment to competing in swimming at DCST.

The Kishwaukee Family YMCA’s core values are Honesty, Respect, Care, and Responsibility.  The Bickner Family Swimming Scholarship recognizes a High School Senior swimmer who upholds one or more of these values.  Write an essay describing how DCST helped instill one or more of these qualities into your life.

Recipient of the scholarship will be announced at our Winter Swim Banquet, date TBD.
