YMCA Championship Meets

            ALL SWIMMERS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MEET(S) FOR WHICH THEY QUALIFY.  The following is a list of all the championship meets and a description of whom is eligible for the meet:
 
 

Northwest Junior District and District Championships – This meet will be held on Saturday, March 6 (Girls and Boys ages 12 years old and younger) and Sunday, March 7 (Girls and Boys who are 13 years old and older) at the Illinois Valley YMCA in Peru, IL.  All swimmers who swam in at least 3 YMCA meets during the past season are eligible to enter this meet.  A copy of the meet packet is available on our website.  In order to attend this meet, you must register for the meet on-line by Wednesday, February 24^th.

Illinois / Missouri Area State Championships – This meet will be held on Saturday, March 20 (Boys only) and Sunday, March 21 (Girls only) at the Kishwaukee YMCA.  All swimmers who achieve an Illinois / Missouri Area State Qualifying Time at the Northwest District Championship Meet are eligible for this meet.  A copy of the meet packet is available on our website.  Note – Everyone that is entered in the District Championship Meet and makes a qualifying time for the Area Meet will be entered in the Area Meet.  If you are unable to attend the Area Meet, please let the coaching staff know by Wednesday, February 24^th.  Some of our team goals are to win the Girls, Boys and combined scoring at this meet.  We expect to qualify all 20 relays to this meet.  Therefore, everyone entered on a relay at the District Meet will be expected to swim at the Area Meet.
 
 

Relays – We are allowed to enter one medley and one freestyle relay per age group at the Northwest District Championship Meet.  District relays will be determined by the fastest possible relay combination based on the times from the time ladder.  (Except for the Boys relays in the 13 year old and older age groups, times from the boys’ high school season will also be considered in determining these relays.)
